Following up...

Thanks to Keith for posting up the link to the announcement of our doing the Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters :) I hope to be doing my share of interviews/pimpage in the coming weeks. For now, here's a bigger/better scan of the cover to issue #1 (click to see full-size).

I'm getting ready to go to my book release party for "Incredible Comics With Tom Nguyen" later today. I'll post pics...perhaps even video!

Black Belt Hamsters

(KEITH)

And the other shoe drops on Newsarama today, with the announcement that Tom Nguyen and I are reviving the ADOLESCENT RADIOACTIVE BLACK BELT HAMSTERS for Dynamite. Here's the linkage...

http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=131041

Because I seem to be too dumb to make links active in the body of a post, anyone that wants to check it out will have to cut and paste.

Having a lot of fun writing this book. It's a great chance to write something silly, yet with a lot of heart underneath. Tom has been waiting a long time for a chance to really dig in and do the complete art on a project and he's going to open a lot of people's eyes on this one.

Ringo Tribute art

I finally got some work cleared up and was able to get to draw my contribution to the Mike Wieringo tribute book. As I was working on it I had some fond memories of Mike.
Our very own Taco Keith Champagne will be providing the inks and colors by the very talented Mike Atiyeh.

Sketch #9: Superman/Wonder Woman

Hey All!

This is a drawing I did for a friend of mines wedding that is coming up in a few short weeks.

I've been pretty busy with work, wrapping up the last issue of Storm Watch PHD.

This past week was also very cool for me because I got to sit in and help out on my friend's radio show. It's The Candy and Potter show and is on 107.9 the link here in Charlotte from 10am-2pm. I was in there this past Mon, Tues, and Wed screening calls and chiming into the conversation whenever I had a chance. Great fun! If you want to check them out you can listen on line at www.candyandpotter.com.

Till next time!

VOTE!

(KEITH)

The voting website for COUNTDOWN: ARENA went live this afternoon and I wanted to throw the link out there for anyone that might not be aware.

http://www.dccomics.com/sites/arena/

I have to admit, I'm absolutely tickled by the existence of the website. It looks cool, it's easy to use, and my name is splashed (well, scrawled at least) on the front page.

While it may be a conflict of interest, I went and voted tonight. My choices will remain my own but there are definite versions I would hope to see win. I will say that Christopher Kent (the bald futuristic Superman) is my favorite man of steel. Not too many times in life does someone get to create a brand new Superman, after all, and he's all mine.

So get out there, have some fun, and pick your favorites!

Sketch #8: Green Lantern

Hey yo! Had time for a quicky sketch of one of my favorite characters Green Lantern! I was in Baltimore over the past weekend for the con. Had a great time as always! Met a lot of great people and was able to have a nice conversation and catch up with Joe Kubert. I love talking with Joe and I haven't seen him in years so that was a nice bonus at the show. Mark Waid had a nice tribute party in memory of our friend Mike Wieringo. A lot of professionals showed up to honor Mike's work and memory. Thanks Mark!

Looking forward to doing the con again next year!

Cute animals

just a doodle...every now and then I feel I should take a break from drawing superheroes and babes. I came across some pictures of hamsters and they reminded me of my pet gerbils I had when I was little. So I started messing around with sketches of these cute little rodents. Here's a couple head studies.

Sketch #7: Madman

Well I'm an idiot, yeah most of you knew that already. I did this sketch before the Flash one so yeah I'm out of order...oops.

Anyhow I'm a huge Madman fan! I'm so glad Mike is putting it back out from Image on a regular basis! I love Mike's art and writing and the book is great. If you haven't checked it out what are you waiting for? Get hopping to your comic shop and get it!

Sketch #6: The Flash!

So I was at Target and saw these cool new toys of Superman, Batman, the Flash, Aquaman, and Green Lantern. They are for kids 3 years old and up and are cartoony looking versions of the characters with stumpy bodies, big heads and hands, just really cool looking! I bought the Flash. I really want Aquaman but I found out he was only one per case so unless I want to spend a lot on E-bay I don't see me getting that one...oh well.

Anyhow these sketch is inspired by the Flash figure!
